Applying for Housing Choice Voucher Assistance

To apply for Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) rental assistance, select Applicant Login in the upper-right corner of this page and follow the prompts to create an account and submit your application.

There is no cost to register or apply.

Project-Based Voucher (PBV) Program

Project-Based Vouchers (PBVs) are tied to specific housing units at participating properties and are separate from the Housing Choice Voucher program.

Please note:

• The PBV application is not available online.
• Being on the Housing Choice Voucher waiting list does not place you on the PBV waiting list.
• For information about PBV availability or the application process, contact the Twin Falls Branch Office at 208-734-8531 or visit the Rental Assistance section of our website.

Fraud Alert

Be aware of scams targeting individuals seeking Housing Choice Vouchers (also known as Section 8 assistance).

Idaho Housing will never charge a fee to place you on a waiting list.

Official communication regarding your application or waitlist status will be provided through:

• Your Rent Café applicant portal
• Email
• Telephone
• U.S. Mail

If you receive suspicious messages, social media posts, websites, or requests for payment or personal information, do not respond. Please contact your local Idaho Housing branch office to verify the information.
